Botox

STATE OF THE ART FACILITY

At this point, just about everyone has heard about Botox. Seen as a wonder treatment, this injection can offer seamless results that smooth the skin and create a bright, youthful look. In addition, Botox can also be used to treat various medical conditions, including spasms, excess sweating, and issues with bladder control. This treatment has become a staple in the cosmetic medicine industry. If you’re interested in getting a Botox treatment, read below to learn more about our process.

What Is Botox?

Botox is an injection that uses botulinum toxin to prevent muscle movement. We know this sounds scary, but the toxin has been refined, and it’s safe for medical use. Botox is used to block signals from certain nerves, preventing muscles from contracting. In many cases, this helps the facial muscles relax, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. In others, this can be used to relieve medical conditions, such as spasms. However, it’s important to know that Botox isn’t a cure for these conditions. Even so, it can offer significant relief for people struggling with certain issues.

Who Is a Candidate for Botox?

Unfortunately, not everyone can be an ideal candidate for a Botox treatment. Ideal candidates are legal adults who are generally healthy and aren’t currently pregnant. People with a history of certain diseases, particularly diseases affecting the neuromuscular system, might not be a good fit. Ideal candidates are struggling with a condition that could be helped with Botox, or want to reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Candidates are also those who are willing to be honest about expectations so we can make sure this is a perfect fit for your needs.

What to Expect During a Botox Treatment

We’ll tell you everything you need to know about how to prepare for the day of the treatment. You might need to stop taking blood thinning medication beforehand to make sure that there’s no excessive bleeding or bruising of the area. This is a minimally invasive treatment, so you can leave right after, but have someone drive you home if you feel uncomfortable with driving after treatment.

This procedure isn’t painful for many people. However, in consultation with you, we can decide if a numbing agent will be used. Once we’re ready to begin, we’ll make use of a very fine needle to inject the toxin into the face. The amount of shots needed will vary, but this procedure usually takes less than an hour to complete. We might massage the area to make sure that the Botox is evenly distributed. After this, you’re all done!

Botox Aftercare

Try not to touch the area unnecessarily for the first day of recovery, and avoid being horizontal for at least a couple of hours. You shouldn’t need to limit physical activity, and full results will usually appear within a week. The treatment will last for several months before another appointment is needed. We’ll give you a detailed plan on how to care for yourself and make sure you can enjoy full, glowing results.
