All-on-X Implants

STATE OF THE ART FACILITY

Artificial teeth offer a stunning, durable solution for people who have experienced tooth loss or decay. As technology has continued to develop, artificial teeth have come to bear a striking resemblance to real teeth, both in appearance and functionality. These artificial teeth, however, require the insertion of implants, which are metal rods that are placed into the bone of the jaw. Depending on how many teeth need to be replaced, this can be a time-consuming process, as each implant needs to be placed individually. All-On-X implants may be an ideal option for people who need several, or all, teeth to be replaced.

What Is All-On-X?

All-On-X implants are an alternative to more traditional implants, which require a rod to be placed for each tooth that is being replaced. All-On-X may be ideal for patients looking to replace large amounts or all of their teeth, as this option lowers the number of implants that need to be placed. These implants–usually four to six–are placed so that they can support a full arch of artificial teeth. This means that you can achieve your dream smile in a shorter amount of time.

What to Expect During an All-On-X Procedure

Before the procedure, we’ll go over everything with you in detail–don’t worry! We’ll talk about risks and what you should expect so you’re completely comfortable and confident in your decision. You’ll need to get dental examinations done beforehand, and we also might ask you to stop or adjust certain medications, especially ones that prevent clotting. You might also need to stop eating and drinking for a set time before the procedure.

Once you’ve been given anesthesia, we’ll start the procedure by opening up the gum with a small cut to expose the bone of your jaw. We’ll drill a hole so the implants can be inserted. The implants will be divided between the front and the back of the mouth so the arch can be supported. Once the implants are in place, you’ll be offered some temporary artificial teeth as you heal so your bone has time to fuse with the implants. After the healing period, you’ll receive your custom teeth, and you’ll be able to show off your new smile!

All-On-X Aftercare

We’ll go over a care plan with you to make sure you can start the healing process at home. It’s normal to experience some pain and minor bleeding in the days following the surgery. Pain can often be managed at home with ice packs and over-the-counter medication, but contact us if you find that these methods aren’t working. Be prepared to limit hard foods for a while after the procedure to give the area time to heal, and avoid smoking and alcohol during the initial period of your recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many implants are used during an all-on-X treatment?

All-on-X implants require between four and twelve implants. The number of implants that you need will depend on your specific case.

Why are all-on-X implants beneficial?

All-on-X implants allow your dentist to replace multiple teeth or arches with a few implants.

What are all-on-X implants?

The implants provide a stationary prosthetic arch that is attached to the implants. This reduces slippage, discomfort, and dietary restrictions that can occur with dentures.

What Our Patients Say

“IT WAS OVERALL A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.”

I had two children get their wisdom teeth out in a weeks time. Both times the secretaries were extremely helpful. The dental assistants were amazing in the way they cared for my kids and were very informative. Dr. Eidson did a great job making sure we knew what was going to happen and what to expect. The incisions seemed to be really clean. He also popped his head out the door as we were leaving to make sure we knew how he thought it went and to let us know if we need anything to contact them.

-Jill C

From the first encounter with the secretary at the desk, to the surgical assistant, who got me to relax, everyone was wonderful. The Dr spent time talking to me and explaining what he had to do. Practically pain free experience! Very nice and calming people. Just what I needed for my extraction. I hope other dentists see this and send their patients to TruForm. Kindness is so important and this practice adds knowledge to make an extraction of a molar an easy experience.

-Ellen G

My son had his 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Adam Eidson and his caring team. He was anxious about the surgery, but they made him feel very safe and comfortable. Today he has minimal soreness and minor swelling. The entire process was a very positive experience for him. I would highly recommend Truform Surgery to any of my friends or family.
