What Is All-On-X?
All-On-X implants are an alternative to more traditional implants, which require a rod to be placed for each tooth that is being replaced. All-On-X may be ideal for patients looking to replace large amounts or all of their teeth, as this option lowers the number of implants that need to be placed. These implants–usually four to six–are placed so that they can support a full arch of artificial teeth. This means that you can achieve your dream smile in a shorter amount of time.

Learn MoreWhat to Expect During an All-On-X Procedure
Before the procedure, we’ll go over everything with you in detail–don’t worry! We’ll talk about risks and what you should expect so you’re completely comfortable and confident in your decision. You’ll need to get dental examinations done beforehand, and we also might ask you to stop or adjust certain medications, especially ones that prevent clotting. You might also need to stop eating and drinking for a set time before the procedure.
Once you’ve been given anesthesia, we’ll start the procedure by opening up the gum with a small cut to expose the bone of your jaw. We’ll drill a hole so the implants can be inserted. The implants will be divided between the front and the back of the mouth so the arch can be supported. Once the implants are in place, you’ll be offered some temporary artificial teeth as you heal so your bone has time to fuse with the implants. After the healing period, you’ll receive your custom teeth, and you’ll be able to show off your new smile!

We’ll go over a care plan with you to make sure you can start the healing process at home. It’s normal to experience some pain and minor bleeding in the days following the surgery. Pain can often be managed at home with ice packs and over-the-counter medication, but contact us if you find that these methods aren’t working. Be prepared to limit hard foods for a while after the procedure to give the area time to heal, and avoid smoking and alcohol during the initial period of your recovery.
