Who Is a Candidate For a Brow Lift?

Not everyone is a good candidate for a brow lift–but don’t worry! We’ll go over your medical history and your goals with you to make sure you’re a good fit for this procedure. In general, a brow lift is a good option for people who are uncomfortable with a sagging appearance of their brow area. We usually perform this procedure on people above the age of 40, but sometimes, due to genetics, younger patients may be excellent candidates, too. To be a good candidate, you should also be willing to be honest about your expectations during your consultation with us. This helps us make sure that we’re choosing the right procedure for you. What to Expect During a Brow Lift Procedure

We’ll give you a detailed plan for how to prepare during your consultation so you’ll be ready to go for your procedure when you arrive. We’ll go over any risks with you beforehand, as well, so you can make an informed decision. We’ll tell you if you need to stop taking or alter your medications leading up to the surgery, and you’ll need to stop using certain drugs that can increase bleeding, like aspirin. Don’t worry–this is only temporary!

Before the day of the procedure, make sure someone is ready to drive you home after your surgery and take care of you when you get home.

We’ll give you anesthesia before we start the procedure to make sure you’re comfortable. We have different techniques that we can use, depending on your anatomy and your goals. In general, either a large incision or a series of smaller ones will be made on the forehead in or near your hairline, and the muscle underneath your skin will be repositioned and tightened, giving you the refreshed look you’re looking for. After we make the adjustments, the incisions will be closed up, typically with stitches.

Brow Lift Aftercare

This is a surgical procedure, so make sure someone can help you back at home so you can get the rest you deserve! We’ll wrap the area before you leave to keep bleeding under control, and you might also leave with a very small tube to make sure that any extra fluid is able to drain. In general, try to keep your head elevated, even when you’re resting, and be ready to avoid heavy physical activity for at least the first few days after the procedure. We’ll go over aftercare plans with you in detail, including bandage removal and wound care.
