We’re proud to say that we’ve helped numerous patients achieve their desired skin by using this technique. This is an excellent option for people looking to treat various skin conditions, including scars, blotches, and wrinkles. If this sounds like it might be a good fit for you, read below to learn more.

What Is Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Laser technology is a marvel of modern medicine, and it’s been refined so that we can use it to give you stunning results. Our team is highly trained in this procedure. We use a precise laser to remove skin by precise layers, allowing the growth of new skin cells to accelerate. This can help reduce the appearance of visible skin issues and give you a smoother, tighter, and more youthful look.

Who Is a Candidate for Laser Skin Resurfacing?

Unfortunately, laser skin resurfacing isn’t the right fit for everyone. This is a good option for people who are struggling with skin concerns that haven’t been able to be fixed using over-the-counter or at-home remedies. Candidates are people struggling with wrinkling, scarring, unwanted warts, age spots, sun-damaged skin, and oil glands that are highly visible. This procedure produces exceptional results, but it also requires a long healing process, so candidates are dedicated to the process and are also generally in good health. Candidates should either not smoke or be willing to stop in the time surrounding the procedure. Ideal candidates also aren’t pregnant, and they shouldn’t have a condition that compromises their immune system. During our consultation, we’ll talk about risks and your medical history to make sure that this is a good fit for you. We’ll also talk about your expectations, and what we can achieve with this technique.

What to Expect During a Laser Skin Resurfacing Procedure

We’ll tell you everything you need to know about preparation before the day of the procedure so you can arrive feeling ready and confident. We’ll ask you to stop taking certain medications before the procedure to make sure that there aren’t complications, especially due to blood thinners. Make plans for someone you trust to drive you home and make sure you’re comfortable.

Depending on the area of treatment and how large it is, the techniques can vary significantly. Usually, this procedure can be done in under two hours. Depending on your preference and the nature of your unique procedure, we’ll help you decide on whether you want to use local or general anesthetic–or, in other words, whether you want to be asleep or remain conscious. After you’re comfortable, we make use of a precise laser to remove the skin in layers from the area, letting new skin cells emerge to give you a youthful glow.

Laser Skin Resurfacing Aftercare

You’ll be able to go home the same day as the procedure. You’ll be given bandages, and we’ll give you detailed instructions on when and how to replace those bandages, as well as how to make sure the area is clean. Swelling and pain can be managed at home using ice packs, but you can contact us if the pain becomes too intense or worsens significantly. Skin peeling is common for several days after the procedure. Make sure that you wear plenty of sunscreen to protect the area, and we’ll also talk to you about using a moisturizer to make sure your skin is hydrated. You’ll be able to enjoy rejuvenated skin to the fullest extent in a matter of months.
