Brow Lift in Genoa, MI: What You Need to Know

A brow lift is a surgical procedure that repositions the soft tissue and skin of the forehead and brow region, which may help reduce the appearance of forehead creases, horizontal lines, and a heavy or lowered brow that can make you look tired or tense even when you feel well-rested. The procedure works by lifting the underlying tissue and, in some cases, removing a small amount of excess skin, allowing the brows to sit in a more naturally elevated position.

TruForm Surgery offers both endoscopic and open brow lift techniques. The approach that may be most appropriate for you depends on your anatomy, the degree of change you are hoping to achieve, and your overall health history. During your consultation, Dr. Brittany K. Eidson, a double-board certified facial cosmetic and oral and maxillofacial surgeon, will take the time to understand your goals and recommend the technique best suited to your individual face.

Because the brow and upper eyelid region are closely related anatomically, some patients seeking a brow lift may also benefit from a conversation about eyelid surgery, which addresses excess upper or lower eyelid skin. Results from a brow lift vary by individual, and our team will give you an honest, realistic picture of what surgery may achieve for you.

Are You a Candidate for a Brow Lift?

The ideal candidate for a brow lift in Genoa, MI is generally someone in good overall health who has noticed changes in the brow and forehead area and is looking to restore a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Candidates often feel that their expressions are being misread because a descending brow creates an unintentionally stern or fatigued look.

You may be a good candidate if you experience one or more of the following:

  • A brow position that has descended over time, creating a heavier appearance to the upper face

  • Persistent horizontal forehead lines or vertical creases between the brows that concern you

  • Upper eyelid heaviness that may be partially related to brow descent rather than eyelid skin alone

  • A desire for a naturally refreshed look rather than a pulled or altered appearance

  • Realistic expectations and a clear understanding of what surgical results may and may not achieve

What to Expect at TruForm Surgery

Patients from Genoa, MI and surrounding communities typically begin with a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Eidson. During this appointment, she will review your medical history, evaluate your facial anatomy, and listen carefully to your goals. There is no pressure and no predetermined outcome: the consultation is a conversation, not a sales pitch.

On the day of your procedure, brow lift surgery is most commonly performed under general anesthesia or IV sedation, depending on the technique and patient preference. Most procedures take between one and two hours. Incisions are typically placed within or just behind the hairline, where they are discreet and well-concealed.

Recovery varies by individual, but most patients experience some swelling and bruising in the first one to two weeks following surgery. Many patients feel comfortable returning to light activity within seven to ten days, though strenuous activity is typically restricted for several weeks. Full results continue to refine over the months following surgery as swelling resolves. Our team will provide thorough aftercare instructions and remain accessible to you throughout your recovery.

A common concern we hear from patients is whether a brow lift will look natural. Dr. Eidson’s philosophy centers on results that feel like you, only more rested.

Frequently Asked Questions: Brow Lift in Genoa, MI

How do I know if I am a candidate for a brow lift?

Candidacy for a brow lift is determined during a personal consultation with Dr. Eidson. In general, good candidates are in overall good health, do not smoke, have realistic expectations, and are experiencing brow descent or forehead changes that concern them. During your consultation, Dr. Eidson will evaluate your facial anatomy and discuss which approach may be appropriate for your goals.

How long does recovery typically take after a brow lift?

Most patients experience the most noticeable swelling and bruising during the first one to two weeks following surgery. Many patients feel comfortable resuming light daily activities within seven to ten days, though strenuous activity is typically avoided for several weeks. Full results continue to develop over several months as the tissues settle. Your recovery timeline will be discussed in detail during your consultation, and our team remains available throughout the process.

When will I see results from a brow lift?

Most patients begin to notice visible improvement as initial swelling resolves, typically within the first few weeks after surgery. However, the final refined results of a brow lift generally become apparent over three to six months as all residual swelling subsides and the tissues fully settle into their new position. Individual results may vary based on anatomy, technique, and the body’s natural healing process.

Can a brow lift be combined with other procedures?

Yes, a brow lift is frequently performed in combination with other facial procedures. Patients often inquire about pairing a brow lift with eyelid surgery or a facelift for more comprehensive facial rejuvenation. Combining procedures may be appropriate for some patients and will be evaluated individually during your consultation. Dr. Eidson will help you understand what combination, if any, may align with your anatomy and goals.
